THE CREATIVE PROCESS

If some of your team members aren't familiar with the design process, here is a handy reference to ensure that production is easy and streamlined.

1. Briefing

Initial Discussion
A discussion about project objectives, timing and budget.

Preliminary Research
• Client prepares and reviews background material and briefing information.
• Boheem researches and reviews previous projects, and articulates the key issues in the context of the work.

Briefing Meeting
Meeting if necessary to discuss brief in detail and clarify any technical issues (budget, timetable, corporate identity guidelines, etc).

2. Proposal

Supply of Estimate
Boheem will provide an estimate detailing:
• design and production fees
• project timetable
• terms and conditions of engagement

Client Approval
• Client checks proposal to confirm understanding of the project’s purpose, fees and timeline.
• Client indicates acceptance of proposal via email.

3. Design

Presentation of Concepts
• Depending on requirements, Boheem will present between one and three design options.
• Client evaluates presentation against the brief.
• Feedback should be articulated as clearly as possible. This feedback is important for the development stage.

Design Refinement
• Requested amendments are made and design is re-presented.
• If printing is required, Boheem chooses the most suitable paper stock and quotes are amended if necessary. ..Stock samples can be sent to the client upon request.
• Boheem allows for two sets of changes after presentation of concepts.

4. Approval

Finished Art Preparation
• Client provides any last minute author’s corrections.
• Boheem acquires high resolution images and ensures all image retouching is complete.
• Boheem prepares artwork files for print and supplies client with a final proof for approval.
• Client approves final proof for print.
• Boheem delivers artwork files to client, publication or printer.

5. Production

The Final Product
We usually allow about 5–7 working days for printing. Time depends on project complexity and print technology used.
